Children learn about different types of engineering and then team up to construct a different engineering-themed project using LEGO® bricks. Starting SoonMad Science: NASA Academy of Future Space ExplorersSummer Camps(Ages 5-12) Mad Science has teamed up with NASA in a quest for exploration! We’ll take a voyage of discovery into the atmosphere and beyond as we explore planets, moons, and other space phenomena in our solar system. Things will heat up as we examine the sun and other stars and discover the difficulties of space travel! Kids will get a firsthand experience of the challenges of living in space as they build circuits while training to be an astronaut. For added fun, we’ll learn about the various technologies that make space exploration possible while bouncing lasers around the room! Kids will love to build their own Mad Science Skyblazer Rocket and participate in a real “NASA” style rocket launch. Campers will receive many cool NASA take homes! Rata2ee Cooking Summer CampSummer Camps(Grades 2nd - 5th) Rata2ee is a culinary academy for kids, offering hands-on instruction in cooking techniques, including: knife basics, cooking fundamentals, food science and nutrition, kitchen safety, proper food handling, gardening 101 (very basics of gardening), and kids' yoga. This camp teaches a very holistic approach to healthy living. Children will eat 3 meals (making their own breakfast, a 3-course lunch, and dessert), so no packing snacks or lunches for parents! This camp teaches strong character building skills and is meant for kids going into 2nd through 5th grades. Kids should be able to stand for 90 minutes at a time (with 2 small sit-down breaks), and should be okay with playing outside during non-cooking times of camp. Items each child needs to bring to camp: a filled (non-glass) water bottle labeled with first & last name; 2 8-oz Ziploc to-go containers labeled with first & last name; a full size beach towel, and sunscreen.
